Caution! Monster Crossing

This was our first year doing Halloween in Italy and it was nice....for the most part.
I'd heard rumors about how crazy trick or treating gets on Halloween (because Garrison lets the Italians into housing in order to be hospitable and make nice with the locals) but I though people were just exaggerating, but no... they go NUTS! There had to be a couple thousand people here. We ran out of candy in 15 MINUTES!!!

But That is okay because the USO did a very nice Trunk n Treat with games and food and other activities and some people on the housing development organized a Pre-Trick or treat for the younger kids and did a great job it was nice to have some alternatives to avoid the rush and crowds.

This was also Logan's First Halloween and his favorite candy this year was the suckers and Lilly just loved everything you gave her.  They were dressed up as Mike and Sulley, from Monsters Inc. Lillly had so much fun helping me carve the pumpkins and decorate our house. and she even helped me hand out some candy today!

And now that Halloween is over for us my little skeleton friends are saying goodbye until next year. I'm not sure if i'll find anything small to use for November, but I've already got my December theme picked out!

Happy Halloween Everyone!
Stay Safe and Have fun!

P.S. If your looking to help a good cause The USO is a
great organization that is always helping Military
members and their families year round!

Chocolate & Horses & Wine . . . Oh My!

It has been a pretty busy month so far, and its only halfway over!

We have attended 2 birthday celebrations,
carved 1 pumpkin,
ordered 2 Halloween costumes,
tried 2 new wines,
and had a lot of family time.

The first of the 2 birthdays was to celebrate the Military Police Corps.
And the second was our next door neighbors birthday. It was held at a local ranch and they let everyone ride horses. It was Lilly's first time riding one and Logan's first time seeing one. She was all smiles about it and Logan wanted to see them but was nervous about their size.
That same day, our friends took us to a local winery and we sampled some wines and I got myself 3 bottles (Marzamino, Moscato dolci, and Fragolina Rosa) after that the took us to their favorite restaurant, which just might be one of our new favorites as well!

Then the other night our friends came over again and we carved our pumpkins, made cinnamon sugar roasted pumpkin seeds, drank wine and watched a couple Halloween movies. Now that sounds like a perfect fall night to me.

Today, We attended Cioccolandovi, The chocolate festival in downtown Vicenza. It was amazing to see all the things they had done with chocolate. We got to sample some and even bought some. We got Lilly a truffle with sprinkles, I got a chocolate cover orange slice, and got a big chocolate bar that he was nice enough to share (it was AMAZING) and we got Lilly a chocolate Rapunzel (see bottom right photo)

Everything above is made of chocolate

Its been a great month so far and I can't wait to see what the rest of the month brings!

Darn you Pinterest!

Most of you know what pinterest is and have been/are/will be addicted to it like I am.

Anywho... I was looking at my home page and a few people had posted stuff that was Halloween related, so I went to the "holidays & events" category and now I am completely infatuated with the idea of having a Halloween/Costume party this year. the only hitch is going to be convincing Mr.W

They have all kinds of food ideas, and decorations, and games.

I know Halloween is over a month away but it just sounds like a fun idea!

Boo!!!

I hope that everyone had a fun day. Lilly has been talking about Trick-or-Treating for the past week so she was very excited for today. We had our pumpkins all carved and Mr.W even got in the spirit and dressed up as superman! I wore my shirt while we were walking around and I got some pretty mixed reviews. Some people thought it was really cool and creepy, others looked at me like I had just shot their dogs or something. But Lilly stole the show as a little monster.

Our neighborhood was kind of a bust last year so we went to one of the others on post and withing the first 30 minutes half the houses were already out of candy. Lilly was having fun getting what she could though and after every house was telling us how she had more candy. She started telling us about an hour in that it was her "favorite".

Thankfully, I decided to check my facebook on the way home and found out that a bunch of people in our neighborhood were still loaded and looking for kids to give candy to, so the last 20 minutes of Trick-or-Treating we just stayed close to home and Lilly got over HALF her candy on just 3 streets! She made out pretty well and was really happy when we let her have some when we got home.

Fancy Finds Friday #2

More things I have discovered to be share worthy these past couple of weeks...

1. Military Wife Life

I have found this blog to be funny and really enjoy it. She talks about everything military, its not just branch specific (which I love) so to all the other military spouses out there give it a look you might find it as enjoyable as I do.

2. Halloween Costume

Now I understand that not everybody may find this very funny, but keep in mind that its for HALLOWEEN
and considering that I will be a month away from my due date by then i thought this would be a pretty clever costume.

3. Furby
Purple Pink color Furby 2012

I had one of these as a kid and recently found out that they are being re-released with some new upgrades that will make them interactive with iPhones and iPads. Only downside is they are running about $50+

Nesting vs Productive

I'm not 100% sure which one it is or maybe its a combination of both, but I've been getting a lot of stuff done lately and I must say, I'm proud of myself!

In the past few days, while I've not had to work, I have managed to do all the laundry in the house, reorganize my kitchen cabinets, laundry room, and bedroom closet. As well as get an oil change in the car, move Baby #2's bassinet upstairs to our bedroom, and do general cleaning around the house.

I have to admit, its nice to stay busy while Mr.W is away and knowing that he'll appreciate it when he gets home makes it even better!

On another note...
while I was at the store today I noticed that they were beginning to put out all the Halloween stuff which got me thinking... what should Lilly be this year?

Her first Halloween she was a spider
Her second she was a batty ballerina
Anybody have any suggestions?

oh and I found what I'm gonna wear for Halloween...

Oh and one last thing...
THE PACKERS PLAY TONIGHT!!!
Go Pack Go!

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In #18

Milspouse Friday Fill-in

Are you a night owl or an early bird?
I am definitely a night owl. Especially now that we have a baby. It's easier to get stuff done when she is sleeping so I usually do alot of cleaning and stuff at night.

What makes you jealous?
I know it sounds kinda cheesy and like I'm lying but I'm really not one to get jealous. Especially when it comes to Mr.W cuz i know he is my one and only ♥

Have you started Christmas/holiday shopping yet? When will you finish? (There’s only 63 days left!)
Haha. I think I usually start after Halloween and finish a little after new years, because I usually go HOME(MI) for Christmas so I get things for my friends back home(LA) before I go back.

What would you have a personal chef make you tonight?
Haha any kind of comfort food ever made... today has been a long and not so good day

Where was your first kiss?
Well I don't remember my FIRST first kiss but I do remember the only first kiss that matters and that would be my first kiss with Mr. W and it was at the top of the play set at "shutes and ladders" park up home in MI at sunset it was beautiful and romantic ♥

3 Little Pumpkins

So here is an update on what our family has done in these last few days.

Friday:
After Mr. W got off of work we found a babysitter and went to see Jackass 3D with a couple of our friends and as obscene and crude as the movie may seem to some... I have to admit that it was pretty hilarious. After the movie we met up with the babysitter and some others for a BBQ and many many rounds of Beer pong between the men... needless to say it was a pretty interesting night.

Saturday:
We woke up and went to the main post chapel for their annual glory festival... there were alot of games and plenty of free snacks including Snow cones, Cotton Candy, and Popcorn

They also had pony rides and a mini pumpkin patch where you could get one free pumpkin per person... so we got 3 little pumpkins

Then were went to the store to pick up some things and headed on over to Mr.W's "work" party
there was great food and once again lots of beer. It was a very long night.

Sunday:
We had a pretty low key day, Mr. W went and watched some football while I did a little shopping and then we baby sat for some friends.

Monday:
Mr. W had to go back to work but luckly got off early so we ran some errands had some dinner and got Lillian the softest and cutest little hoodie.

Tuesday:
We attempted to get some family pictures but sadly they were booked so we had to make an appointment. After that we went to a friends and watched a movie and had some cake and ice cream. It was pretty yummy. Then we went home and watched our usual shows. a.k.a. Teen Mom

 Wednesday:
haha sadly we didn't do anything except enjoy each others company.

Today:
We got got our family pictures done and they turned out great!

  • She has about 6 oz of formula 4-5 times a day and has 2  4oz jars of baby food everyday.
  • She goes to bed at about 9:30 and wakes up at about 8
and she takes about 2 1.5-2 hour naps a day
  • She can't crawl yet but she can roll everywhere and turns around on her tummy to face different directions
  • She loves to "pet" the kitties
  • She tries so hard to sit by herself but usually ends up falling over trying to reach for things
  • Her favorite toy right now is paper because she can squish it and rip it and it makes fun noises.

Other News of the Day...

Lilly got her FIRST Halloween costume today, she is going to be a little spider.
I'm looking forward to dressing her up ans showing her off but I only wish that Mr. W could be there to see her and have fun with us.
Also I got my Starbucks gift card that I won on the Huggies rewards website
but sadly living on a living on an Army post the system is through AAFES
so it doesn't work yet... but they said "it should work by the end of the month".
so hopefully I can get my frappuccino on soon!
